I am working on the drawing for my next project but I took a bit of a detour when I ran across the February challenge on FB by "Sharon's Art". The photo of the eagle is on "Paint My Photo" by Gary Jones. It is 9x12 inches painted in watercolor. Thanks for looking, comments welcome. Blessings......
Finished! This is a 10x10 inch varnished watercolor titled "My Cup Overflows". I have created a WIP album on my facebook art page with 15 wip photos for anyone that might be interested. I also added a few tips along with the photos. www.facebook.com/gardenofweeden
Thanks for looking. Comments/suggestions welcome. Blessings.........
I am slowly adding red. There is still some work to be done on the top rose but the one on the bottom is finished I believe. There are 4 to 6 layers on each petal so it does take some time. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
I decided to put the background and shadows in first. This seems to work better when painting reds which reactivate very easily when touched with a wet brush. It is moving a bit slowly but I am sure will pick up speed once I start on the flowers.
The top picture is the first wip of my next painting. It is drawn and ready to start. The bottom two photos are the completed sunflower painting where I darkened the fold of the lace a bit on the right side (thanks Deb!).
I have completed the drawing and it is ready to be transferred onto my "watercolor paper canvas". This one is a 10x10 inch but there is so much detail in the lace and petals that it is going to be a challenge. It might be one to paint larger sometime in the future but at least I can work out most of the color choices and such on this one.
I have made a big pot of hamburger soup, have fresh cornbread just out of the oven, there is a fire in the fireplace and I am working on a new painting. Life is good. This cold, icy weather will end tomorrow and north Florida will be back in the 70s by the weekend - YES!
