I have finished the lion (watercolor, 5x5inch). I knew that I would have to add a bit more detail than I had on the previous WIP. Hopefully I have been able to add enough detail to make me comfortable without totally losing the freshness of the painting. Thanks for following along with the WIP. I appreciate all of your comments.

He is wonderful, Vicki!
He looks very fresh indeed! :-), hard to believe it is only 5" x 5". My favourite area is the top of his head, love the watercolour technique there. I am back blogging and I look forward to looking through your older posts to see what I have missed. Great job Vicki!
Hi,
i love it! It got so much expression. I think you did a great job on adding some more detail but not overdone it. Stopped at the right time :)
greetings Sliekje and cats
Perfect finish, Vicki! It's hard to believe that you managed to put so many details in a 5"X5" painting. Wonderful! He looks so majestic!
Such a powerful painting for a small 5 x 5! And, yes, I think whatever you added didn't overwork or overdo anything - still gorgeous!!
Thanks so much Kathryn, Teresa (glad you are back), Sliekje (the tough part is knowing when to stop, isn't it?), Christiane & Rhonda (whew...I was hoping you would still like it). I appreciate the encouragement from you guys!
Just beautiful - can't imagine painting that small!
ps - if this one goes up as a giveaway - I WANNA WIN IT!!! (and I'm only partially joking!!!) Great job!
Vicki...although I advised you to stop at the last WIP, I trusted that you wouldn't "fiddle" it to death like I do and this is proof that you didn't! It is a marvel. The only thing I think would make it better would be if it had been done on a full sheet of paper...this guy is so dynamic and regal that it would make a prize-winner for sure!
Thank you so much Deb for your support! I will tell DH to draw your name if I do it as a give away - lol.
Thanks so much Dali!
Susan thanks, all I could hear as I was working on it was all of the comments to leave it alone. So I think it helped me stop before I over worked it. A full sheet....my breathing has increased and my heart is pounding.....could I.....would I dare........hummmmmmm
Okay, then, I DARE you to do this one on a full sheet of paper! It will rattle your world and add a wonderful masterpiece to the rest of the world's art!
How about the rest of you. wanna add your voice to this dare?
Susan, I wanted to take some time to think about this ........ I take the dare ....... He will be 24x24 inches!
Oh Wow! I can hardly wait to see this! Be sure to use the same paint...that is some glorious granulation.
Awesome lion!
Thank you Judie!
