Sunflower Finished

Sunflower
Varnished Watercolor
10x10 inches
$150

The sunflower is finished.  It is rather dark and rainy here today so it is very difficult to get a wonderful photo but this is pretty close to the colors.  C&C and comments welcome.

Update on Cherries & Lace

Moving right along - lol.  While working on this painting I realized that my reference photo could be improved.  The table edge behind the lace needed to be darker.  This is very time consuming but I feel it will be well worth the effort in the finished painting.

Finished Tiger? & Early Stages of a New Painting!

I believe the tiger is finished and ready to sign. Many thanks to bridgetds at Flickr for the reference photo. It is very cloudy today so the picture is not perfect but very close to the actual painting
.
I am also posting the early stages of a new painting (well I did the drawing about a year ago).  It is also 20x20 inches and since it was already drawn I decided to work on it.  My reference photo.

I am starting some smaller, 8x8 inch, flower paintings which are more in my comfort zone. I am working on the sketch of a red rose now and will post soon.

Tiger WIP & Lady Margaret's link at DPW

I have painted this tiger previously as an 8x8 inch.  Now I want to paint it large so here is the beginnings of the tiger painting as a 20x20 inch on a 1.5 inch stretcher frame covered with Arches watercolor paper.  Photo Credit: bridgetds at Flickr.com

I also varnished "Lady Margaret" without any difficulties and have posted her for sale on my DPW site.  Here is a link - http://www.dailypaintworks.com/fineart/vicki-greene/lady-margaret/141473

I have made a bit of progress on the cat but it seems that this past week was not to be one for painting. I was overtaken with interruptions and am actually pleased that I accomplished any painting at all.  Sometimes when I am working on a larger piece (yes 10x10 inch is large for me) I can only look at it for so long without needing a break so I started another small cat painting (5x5 inch) to give my brain a resting place.

I also am posting a picture of my wolf that I finished recently because I won 1st place in the painting category at the ALNF's 8th Annual Member Art Show and I wanted to share that with my blogging buddies.

This coming week isn't looking any better for painting time but I will try to grab a few minutes here and there.
