Many times when I am working on a specific area in my painting I will work on multiples of the same painting. Right now I am trying to improve my landscape painting and I am practicing sky/clouds.

Paynes Prairie #1
I am a member of a SWAP group and this one
went to my SWAP partner in Canada. Once I
had finished the three paintings my DH chose
the one to send.

I did these three 5x7s at the same time and while they are very similar it was good practice for me. I am now working on three more of a hay field but with the emphasis on the sky.

I have tried to paint from my photos of the Low Country and it is more difficult than it looks, so I think you did very well in working on these. I like how you showed the flatness of the terrain. Good seeing your paintings again.
