This is just a quick little study in texture. It is 5x7 and was inspired by a tutorial from Debi Watson's website. I used cobalt blue and burnt sienna for the color. The texture was achieved by splattering masking, water spritzing, paint splatter and granulating medium. Once the background was in the color was removed from the shell shapes with a Mr Clean Magic Eraser and then detail and shadows added.

Vickie, As usual, your texture lessons are right one! I love these colors; they just sing, beach! Great that you are painting again...

Hi Vicki,
This is so peaceful and the textures you have got are wonderful...I can smell the sea air.

Thanks for the information on how you achieved this one.m

Thank all of you so much! After having looked at it a bit I think it looks better rotated to a landscape format. Glad I had not signed it yet.

Gorgeous results you've achieved here! And thanks for adding my site to your list of blogs. I may be doing a special art marketing podcast in the future -- perhaps you'd like to contribute some ideas!

Thank you Kelly. I love your site and your marketing tips! Art and marketing are both relatively new to me but I will be glad to help if I can.

I love the texture you captured... I checked out the tutorial and I think I'll have to give it a try myself. :) Happy Thanksgiving!
