I had some time to work on my little painting of Bonnie today. I have a lot to learn about painting fur but this is certainly good practice. What do you think so far? I hope that everyone has had a wonderful Easter.
Hi Deb & thanks. The grass area started out well enough. I masked the hammock and dog and wet the paper and dropped in various green mixes and let it dry and it looked nice except the bottom part wasn't dark enough so I lightly misted and dropped in some darker at the bottom and as it was drying a light horizonal mark appeared everywhere my brush had touched so as a save i crumbled up cling wrap real tight and placed on the damp watercolor for maybe 10 minutes and removed it when it was still damp enough to give some texture but not real hard lines throughout. So I guess I am saying it was the result of a mess up - lol.
Hi there! You're doing a great job on this puppy. My show went fine, I sold 4 pieces and had almost 4 other commissions to paint cat and dogs for friends. Also I had someone asked to give private watercolor lessons (a good test to see if I'm also a good teacher).
I wish I can use your new paint to get inspiration on the committed paints! Have a nice painting day!
Thanks Loredana & Nava I appreciate your comments and hope to get an update posted today. Loredana I am glad your show went well for you and best of luck on your commissions and class.

Great likeness! How did you get the texture in the grass area?
