Here are a couple of 5x7s of a weathervane that is in the back yard. It has been there for many years now and has developed some rust but I still enjoy it.
Vicki...This is great...I love weather vanes! If you do another, I would like to see the second vane NOT "kiss" the horizon as it is doing in this rendition. Your accuracy is stupendous!
Thanks Madelaine and Susan. I "saw" the horizon thing when the painting was finished so I probably will do another at some point but these were my "unwind" paintings after "Dog's Life" -lol.
Unusual subject and it seems you have cracked the horror of 'greens' with such a variety of tones. BTW (being lazy) I'll comment on the resting dog in the hammock here to say its absolutely great and a wonderful donation. Don't you dare change a thing.
Thanks Joan. It is amazing what you can find to paint in your own backyard. Thank you so much for your comment on the doggie. I framed her this weekend and will be sending her off soon.
Your weather vane watercolors are marvelous!! I don't mind at all that the second one 'breaks the rules'-- it still works! The rendition of the rusty metal is quite convincing.
Really good watercolors of an unusual and intriguing subject. I enjoyed seeing them very much - love the gentle 'breeze' of greens that seem to play on the vanes.

Hi Vicki - I especially love this open sky with the larger weather vein; great name as well.
Thanks Kathy!
Vicki, these are really beautiful, I love the colors you gave to the angelflags, and I love also landsvcapes and how you rendered the sky! Brava!
P.s. my fav is the one where the angel points at the sky!
Thanks Loredana! That is my favorite too.
