This is an experiment. I am painting a gardenia for a young woman that is losing her eyesight and therefore I didn't want to frame it under glass. I painted the 5x7 gardenia and placed it on a 9x12 gallery wrap canvas. I encountered several problems with attaching it to the canvas and with varnishing it but for a first try I consider the problems just a learning curve. The first picture is the painting just laying on the canvas and the second picture is after it has been attached and varnished. The picture is centered & even IRL just a bit off with the camera.

It looks to me like it really came to life when you sprayed it and attached it; I'll have to try this sometime - your painting is beautiful.

The gardenia is very nicely done. I clicked on it to enlarge the photo and I really like the subtle colors in the flower itself.

Thanks Kathy. The watercolor is bright almost as if when the paint was wet when the varnish was added. I think I would like to try one with a satin or semi gloss varnish.
Thanks Candy. There is quite a bit of color in the flower and it does not show up as well in the photo as IRL.

Wonderful generous idea for your client to have such tactile pleasure from this beautiful piece of artwork.
