Butterfly

There is a young lady that is a great fan of my art. At this time in her life and career she is not ready to purchase original art but regularly buys prints and notecards for herself and gifts. She needed a butterfly print for a birthday gift but I didn't have a butterfly painted. I painted this one over weekend and now have a print for her. I am putting the original on my "gallery" for sale.

Life seems full of coincidences. I bought a new Panasonic Lumix 18 zoom camera and decided to put it to good use with close up of insects on flowers for a new series (when I have time). Then along comes your beautiful yellow butterfly. Even more inspired now by this beauty and such a kind thing to create a painting to let a friend have a print.

Thanks Joan. I think you will make a wonderful series of close ups. I enjoy butterfly chasing with a camera. Enjoy you new camera.

BRAVO Vicki!!! LOVE this one! I find butterflies extremely difficult, for some reason - and you've hit the nail on the head with this one. The background is so complimentary - excellent, thoughtful choice of colors. The butterfly is poised in mid-air, ready to take off. Great! RoseAnn

Thank you so much RoseAnn. I must say that this little fellow was the ugly duckling until the last day and then the painting finally came together.

Hi Vicky,

The colours are realistic and the lens blurr effect contributes to a convincing perspective.

Best regards,

José
