Flower Photos

The summer flowers are getting started and I wanted to share a couple with you.  This is my first daylily of the season and there are a lot of buds to continue the blooming for a while.  Also my hibiscus have started to bloom.  I have to keep them in pots and move them to the porch in the winter but they are worth the effort.
Have a great week!

Beautiful photos - I do miss my blue bird hibiscus I had in my last garden - maybe find somewhere to plant a new one. How is the local show going with the snow leopard??

Thanks Christiane and Joan. Joan, thanks for asking about the show. We did receive sponsors for two $250 awards for emerging/student artist so far. I was a bit disappointed because my little painting (10x10 / 15x15 framed)seems totally lost. Everyone seemed to favor painting very large pieces for this. Full sheet watercolors and very large oils but maybe if anyone takes the time to get a little closer they will enjoy the leopard. The other works are very, very good, just very large.

Hey Vicki, the flowers are so lovely. We are waiting "not so " patiently for Spring to really be here. Is quite cold here in PA the past 2 days!

We have similar setups here with shows and larger works. The jurors always seem to favor the large pieces and it makes it really tough for folks who work well in the smaller sizings. I'd think your leopard would hold its' own since it has a great palette and his face is compellling. Plus the contrast makes it "pop".

Jurors and hard to figure, and they do love the grand efforts, but keep in mind, folks can afford the smaller ones!! :-)
