January 2011 Giveaway

I wish you all a New Year filled with good things!  May the excitement of new beginnings stay with you throughout the year.
I have spent quite a bit of time evaluating the direction I would like to take with my art this coming year.  First, I am really excited about an online watercolor tutoring class that I will be taking.  I will let you know more about it as I get started.  I have also decided that at least for this year to do quarterly giveaways.  This will allow me some extra time to work on developing my painting skills.
"Desert Rose" is the first giveaway of the year.  It is an original watercolor, 8x8 inches, double matted and framed in a narrow black frame.  Send me an email to vgreene@windstream.net with January Giveaway in the subject line to be entered into the drawing.  The winner's name will be drawn on January 28th. Best of luck to each of you!
Blessings
Vicki

Vicki,
I am really excited to hear more about your online watercolor class! Your giveaways are so gorgeous ( I know since I have one proudly displayed on one of my walls...on a quarterly basis, this is still super generous!
The January giveaway is another beauty - I especially like the granulation in the background that produces a great texture.

All my best for a great year.

Thank you so much Christiane. You are not only very kind, you are an excellent artist and your opinion means a lot. I can't wait to get started on the watercolor class, it is divided up into 10 projects based on an evaluation of my previous work. The background in "Desert Rose" is a mixture of sap green and um blue done in 3-4 wet in wet glazes. Glad you like it.

Vicki, this is an outstandingly beautiful and sensitve watercolor rendering. What grace your flower has and how delicately it is painted. Love it. Will have to send you an email and cross my fingers!
You have us intrigued with this online watercolor tutoring class. Can you share its location or would you rather just quietly work on your assignments? Just asking as you are well aware that we all can use extra work on developing our painting skills and would love to join in.
