Wolf

Here are a couple of WIP shots of my latest.  It is a 20x20 inch and is Arches 140 lb WC paper stretched over 1.5 inch stretcher bars and protected with a thin plywood backing, all of which was painted before stretching to protect the paper. It is moving along slowly but this size is very large for me.  I have been working on the ears and eyes today and will try to post an update soon.  Thanks for looking!

Well, glad to see you painting.
After your last post I kept checking and thought you'd taken a vacation...
This is a good subject. and will turn out well, I know your work .
I did a graphite of a wolf behind a birch tree last year.. He may still be on my blog somewhere .

Looking good so far, Vicki. How do you like using stretcher bars for wc?

Thanks so much Debbie, Barbra Joan, Katheryn & Sharon. Debbie it is hard to work through the ugly stages knowing it will come togerther later. No vacation Barbra Joan, just working with DH for him to create the boards that would work for me and then drawing the wolf (3 times - lol). Katheryn so far I am really enjoying working with the stretcher bars. I am amazed at the difference between Arches 300lb and 140 lb papers. I had no idea that the 300 lb was such a sponge as to soaking up color. Sharon there is a lot of excellent info out there as to stretching wc paper over stretcher bars. Here are my favorite links and basically I (with the help of DH) just fined tuned the process to work better for me.
