I enjoy working very detailed in my paintings but sometimes after working hard on a detailed painting I find that I have a desire just to play with color and let the "details " develop with only a little help from me. Angel Fish is one of those paintings. I splattered, splashed and played with color. I had fun and the painting came together quickly. Now I am fresh and ready to start another detailed painting. I will be doing a second in my Magnificent Petits series. Stay tuned.........

I need this picture! It's so calming and serene, and the colors are gorgeous!
I love this painting! What is the size?
Thanks Katherine and Rhonda!
Katherine once I get a frame for it I will be posting the painting for sale.
Rhonda this one is on 300LB WC paper mounted on sealed masonite board and will be varnished. I use Golden Satin Finish because it looks very natural to me. It is 6x12 inches.
Absolutely gorgeous!
I agree with everyone: this is absolutely gorgeous. It would make a great companion piece for my new "Gardenia" that should soon arrive:-)
Thanks you Pat & Christiane. I really appreciate you stopping by and commenting.
Christiane I did get "Gardenia" in the mail on Tuesday morning. I sent it first class mail so I hope it does not take forever to get to you and I do hope you like it once you see it IRL.
Vicki, thank you again. I have no doubt that I will love it. A friend/collector of mine saw the picture of Gardenia on my blog today and she took the time to let me know how she loved it, how lucky I was to have won it. I totally agreed with her.
This is wonderful, Vicki! Nice to have that balance between loose and detailed, eh? You do a great job with both.
Vicki - you are really turning into a wonderful painter, working in so many mediums. This painting is beautiful.
You can splash and splatter anytime. This is a super piece!
Thanks Christiane your words are so encouraging.
Linda, thanks, I think I am a bit unbalanced (lol) toward detail but sometimes a more loose painting will push its way to the surface.
Deb, thanks so much. Your comment really means a lot to me.
Judith, thank you. I really appreciate your encouragement.
