The sun is shining today but the temp is still quite cold for North Florida so this painting will have to wait until next weekend for additional work. I don't know if you can tell much about it but it is a waterlily showing the reflection on top of the water and then showing underneath the surface of the water. I still have the lily pads and water hyacinth leaves to add and the defining of the white lily petals. This is painted on 300lb Fabriano Soft Press paper. I started my first one on Lana 300lb but had covered the top part of the paper with frisket film while painting the bottom and when I removed the frisket film the surface of the paper was very damaged so I began once again on a different paper. Size: 8x15 inches.

Oooo, this is looking good. Love the drizzling look to the water...good texture and interest and muted color there :)
The textures are splendid!I hope that the Florida weather improves soon so that we can see the finished painting.
Looking forward to watching this one "grow."
Thanks Rhonda, Christiane and Judith. The weather is supposed to be more normal for North Florida next weekend with temps being in the mid to upper 60's.
Loving this one so far! Re: the Lana - that is extremely soft paper and the frisket film no doubt just pulled off the surface.
So interesting! Looking forward to seeing this progress.
Thanks Deb and Teresa. Well, I purchased a 10 sheet pack of Lana so hopefully I will learn to work with it and I still have my Arches and Fabriano that I am more familar with.
good concept, Vicki. Looks good the way it is coming.
Thanks so much Gary!
OOOh, Vicki - I can't WAIT to see what you do with this! So far, it's very interesting!
Love the composition and the drizzle effect. Great colors. Looking forward to the completion.
