Snow Leopard WIP II

I hope that everyone can hang in there with me through the ugly stages and I do hope that I can pull this one out of the ugly stages.  I dropped in a little bit of color just to get an idea of where I was headed with the leopard and then covered him with masking.  I completed the background using black ink and watercolor. Now I am ready to work on the leopard.

I'm sure he'll be beautiful and well worth the wait.

Never rush for the audience ... we know how well you do, and this leopard can't miss!

If the rest of the painting is as stunning as the eyes, it will be a master piece. Debbie's right - there is no 'ugly' stage the way you are tackling this animal portrait. I've seen a similar work before - maybe another blogger - or is it your second version? Enjoy yourself creating this amazing creature of the wild.

Thanks so much Barbra Joan and Joan. I do appreciate the comments and encouragement. Joan this is a second version. The first I did the cat part entirely in colored pencil and this one I am doing more of a combination of watercolor and colored pencil on the cat.

It looks like your leopard is patiently waiting for its colors :-)
So do I.

This is going to be stunning, not that the other one was not because it was :)
