WIP Butterfly

Can you believe that i am actually posting a WIP painting?  I am on a very short deadline for this one and I hope that I can pull it off.  It is a donation for a Hospice fundraiser.  I just have the first layer on the background and it is so wet and humid today that it isn't drying so it will be tomorrow after work before I can continue.  Yes, I know that it is in the ugly stage but I am hoping that it will get better. The finished painting will be 7.5x19 inches.

Love the background, Vicki! It will glow! This painting will be wonderful and will do well at the fundraiser. Can't wait to see the rest!

Right on girl! You will make your deadline. You are amazing at that, and this is going to be a wonderful painting. I'm sure Hospice will appreciate your efforts. They are wonderful folks!

nice composition Vicki. It will be a winner for whoever recives it.
Like your Kingfisher photo. I have a pair working our river that like to sit on a branch I can watch while watching T V Most often they are more interesting to watch as they occassionaly dive and come back up to that branch with a small fish.

Thanks Gary! There is nothing like a tight deadline to get one motivated. I have seen the kingfisher several times now so I guess he likes it at the catfish pond. I do hope that he does not find the koi pond.
