Morning Glories

This is the second project in my online class with Susan Bourdet   I had taken some lovely pictures of morning glories growing on my garden fence and previously had attempted to paint them but the painting went in the trash bin.  This class gave me the opportunity to attempt morning glories again and I am much more pleased with the results.  The painting is 20x20 inches.  I hope everyone has a great weekend!  My next project - passion flowers.

With this kind of work i can not imagine any of your paintings going into the trash bin. This is just fabulous, absolutely amazing colors.

Agree with the above! Also, love how you handled the background - how much foliage to include, what to suggest, how to achieve depth - often the tricky bits of doing florals. May you have a great weekend as well! :-)

Only one word for this piece Vicki - STUNNING in all respects. This Susan Bourdet is worth researching if she helps you find the creativity for this quality work. Can't wait to see your interpretation of passion flowers.

Thank you so much AK, Christiane, Teresa, Marian, Cathy, Claire, Kathryn, & Joan. I really appreciate your comments. Susan has helped me so much to think through things for a good composition and to combine my reference photos to make the paintings better.

Beautiful work, Vicki! I think your style fits well with Susan B's glazing technique so I know you're enjoying that. Looking forward to the next one!
