10x10 inch watercolor

I think I am finished with this tiger.  I will step away and give it a couple of days to make sure I don't need to do any adjustments.  Thanks to Gary Jones Wildlife Photography for permission to use the reference photo.  Thank you for looking.  Your comments and/or suggestions are always appreciated.

The sunflower is finished.  It is rather dark and rainy here today so it is very difficult to get a wonderful photo but this is pretty close to the colors.  C&C and comments welcome.

Tiger WIP & Lady Margaret's link at DPW

I have painted this tiger previously as an 8x8 inch.  Now I want to paint it large so here is the beginnings of the tiger painting as a 20x20 inch on a 1.5 inch stretcher frame covered with Arches watercolor paper.  Photo Credit: bridgetds at Flickr.com

I also varnished "Lady Margaret" without any difficulties and have posted her for sale on my DPW site.  Here is a link - http://www.dailypaintworks.com/fineart/vicki-greene/lady-margaret/141473

Lady Margaret - Finished

"Lady Margaret" is finished.  This is a 10x10 inch stretched watercolor paper "canvas" and will be varnished.  I really enjoyed painting this one because she seemed to have so much personality.  Once the varnishing is complete I will list her for sale on DPW.

Lady Margaret WIP V

I am getting closer to "The End" of this painting.  There is still a considerable amount of work to be done on the hat but otherwise just some minor touchups. Thoughts/comment are appreciated.

Lady Margaret - WIP III

The weather finally cleared up enough for me to take a picture of Lady Margret's progress.  There is still a lot of refining to do to the face and of course the hat, scarf and chest but it is moving in the right direction.

Lady Margaret - WIP II

I have had very little painting time since the last post but to keep you updated and myself motivated I am posting what I have done. Lady Margaret is slowly coming together.

Lady Margaret - WIP

Here is my latest WIP.  Once again I am painting on a 10x10 inch stretched watercolor paper "canvas" and the painting will be varnished.  The hat I believe will take quite a bit of time and I probably will switch back and forth between painting the dog and the hat so that I will feel like I am accomplishing something.

The Pug - Finished

The Pug is finished and listed on my DPW site. Here is a link:  http://www.dailypaintworks.com/fineart/vicki-greene/the-pug/126466

The painting is 6x6 inches and varnished so that it can be framed without mat or glass.  Thanks everyone for following along with my wip posts.  I appreciate each of you!

Pug - WIP

I am slowly developing the fur.  I think I will be able to finish him late tonight or sometime tomorrow. He has a couple of little light pink toenails that I am looking forward to painting.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend.  The sun is shining but it is cold and windy here. (Well it is in the 50s but to this wimpy Florida resident it is COLD!)

New Cat WIP - Moving along slowly

Making slow progress and this is certainly in the ugly stages.  I used to panic at this stage but I have learned that if you just keep working the painting will usually take a turn for the better so deep breath and continue painting.

This is my next wip project that I can post (I am also working on a cat commission).  The marsh wren is a 5x5 inch watercolor and requires my tiny brushes.

Here is my latest watercolor, "The End of the Day"!  It is 5x5 inches, mounted to gesso board and varnished. I have attached several pictures of the frame also.  I will be putting this on the DailyPaintWorks site today for auction.  The painting will come with this lovely 4 inch frame and be ready to display.  The total size of the painting and frame is 13x13.  Thanks to Ani Carrington @ Flickr for the reference photo.

Nosy Neighbor
8x8 inch Varnished Watercolor

I knew I had to paint this one when I first saw it.  The expression was wonderful.  The colors look a bit brighter IRL but this is our 3rd day of rain and I really miss the sunshine.  I will put this one in the DPW gallery today so that it will show up on the "What's New" page tomorrow.  Thanks to A. Jakubiak @ flicker for the reference photo. Hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend!

My Cup of Tea

I stayed within my comfort zone this week, which is painting small detailed paintings.  This is an 8x8 inch varnished watercolor called "My Cup of Tea".  Hope you enjoy it and have a great weekend!
